Russell Crowe regains title of World Pac-Man Champion

Russell Crowe has successfully regained the title of World Pac-Man Champion at a tournament in Hamburg, Germany over the weekend.

The LA Confidential star cleared a perfect game of Pac-Man in a staggering 3 hours and 22 minutes, a feat which many believed impossible.

Before breaking into films with Romper Stomper in 1992, Mr Crowe was previously best known for his achievements in Pac-Man, becoming the only three-time consecutive world Pac-Man champion in history.

Sadly, his legacy was tarnished in 1990 when, after a catastrophic attempt to secure a piece of fruit, a ghost was able to catch Mr Crowe’s Pac-man.

So angry was the 2001 Oscar winner, that three vintage Pac-Man arcade machines were lost forever, and the town of Chelmsford, England, where the championship was held, was rendered uninhabitable for sixteen weeks.

Mr Crowe retired from the sport of Pac-Man and then fell into acting.

“It’s great to be back doing what I love,” said the Robin Hood actor.

“I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s been a privilege and an honour to appear in some of the greatest films of the last twenty-five years, but Pac-Man is where my heart lies and always will.”

Mr Crowe will still work in films when his Pac-Man career allows, but he has no intention of expanding into any other arcade games.

“What? Me? Russell Crowe? Playing Galaga or Missile Commander? No, that’s just stupid.”
