Producers respond to another Golden Globes snub for Homes under the Hammer

As another year passes with no Golden Globe nominations for popular sickie-day home renovation show Homes under the Hammer, producers have spoken out about the snub.

“I understand it’s perhaps not to everyone’s taste,” explained producer Stewart James.

“But look, we’ve made over four hundred thousand episodes, you’d have thought the Globes should have at least acknowledged us by now.”

It is thought that the Globes policy of dividing TV shows into drama and comedy/musicals has proved a hindrance to the show’s chances.

“That’s b***ocks for a start,” said James.

“If Once Upon A Time in Hollywood is a comedy or musical then Homes under the Hammer certainly bloody is.

“Have you seen Martin Roberts? Hilarious.

“But, you know, it fits the drama category just as well. That bit when the Estate Agent gives his valuation? That’s drama. That’s suspense. Makes Succession look like a right load of old nob.”

However, it was the presenters that James felt most aggrieved for.

“It’s a disgrace. Look at Dion Dublin. That man played for England! The least he deserves is a Golden Globe nomination.”

It is not the first time there has been controversy around the Golden Globes nominations – in 2017, La La Land stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling boycotted the ceremony after Escape to the Country failed to secure even one nomination.
