The new Omen prequel The First Omen is to focus on The Devil’s past as a member of an IT support team for a major financial institution.
The Devil will be shown here as a wide-eyed, young computer graduate whose only dream is to help people when their printer gets jammed or they’ve forgotten their password.
“It’s a film about how working on an IT support team can corrupt even the most innocent heart,” said producer Stewart James.
“We begin with The Devil graduating with a computer science degree and then his excitement and hope as he gets his first job, but that joy is immediately dented as he is shown to the dungeon-like basement in which the IT support team have been consigned.
“From then on it is a daily litany of humiliation and mistreatment as people shout at him because an email took three minutes to arrive or they can’t insert a high-definition clip from Family Guy into their PowerPoint presentation.”
Finally, after several months, he snaps, and becomes the Antichrist, dedicated to bringing about the Kingdom of Hell on Earth
“It’s really a timeless story of hate, violence and being told to stay late to disinfect the CEO’s laptop after he accidentally downloaded 98GB of adult content,” continued James.
“It is also a surprisingly true to life depiction of the experiences of many who work on an IT Support Team.”
The First Omen: Have You Tried Switching It Off And On Again will be released later next year.
