The development of planned Obi-Wan TV show has been paused in order for the script to undergo a major rewrite to remove an excessive flatulence plotline.
The current version of the script sees the young Ben Kenobi, played by Ewan McGregor, crippled by such chronic flatulence that it begins to upset the balance of the Force.
“It was and is a terrific idea,” explained producer Kathleen Kennedy.
“All around Tatooine, you see these strange Force events – Banthas exploding, big holes appearing, wookiees inexplicably speaking French – then you go back to see Obi-Wan at home, letting loose these ginormous farts and it becomes clear that, because he is such a powerful Jedi, his flatulence is affecting the world around him.
“You know, then he gets together with, I don’t know, a small green child and a sarcastic robot and together they have to go off and find a way to stop Obi-Wan farting all the time.
“Turns out, it’s Darth Vader who has used a new Force curse on his old master’s guts and the final episode sees another epic battle between Darth Vader and Ben Kenobi – just with more blow-offs and guffs.”
Despite Kennedy’s confidence in the idea, the rewrite will change the plot dramtically.
“Disney want us to go down a different, less farty, route,” said Kennedy.
“Fair enough, it’s their dime.”
Happily, the writers were ready with another top-quality idea.
“Oh yes, this is great, Obi-Wan’s bottom starts inexplicably getting bigger and gets so big that it upsets the balance of the Force….”
