New two-disc Collector’s Edition blu-ray of ‘Fenton! Jesus Christ, Fenton!’ announced

A new Collector’s Edition blu-ray of ‘Fenton! Jesus Chris, Fenton!’ will be released to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the classic video.

A sumptuous two-disc package will contain multiple versions of the film, including a new 2K restoration. Extras include interviews with creators and star, retrospective documentaries and a really quite impressive cardboard sleeve.

“The restoration is something that we’ve been working on for over a year, and we’re incredibly pleased with,” explained Stewart James from boutique blu-ray label ‘Fancy Films.’

“You have never seen ‘Fenton! Jesus Christ, Fenton!’ Rendered in quite such detail. The looks in the eyes of the deer, the wild hair of Fenton’s owner. It’s all perfectly clear. In fact, we’ve even uncovered what looks like a man urinating behind a tree in the background that no-one will have seen before.”

As well as the new restoration, there will be the original version, an extended version with some nice views of Richmond park, and the disappointing 2019 Hollywood remake with Tom Hardy as Fenton and Meryl Streep as his owner.

Other extras include interviews with Fenton’s owner, Fenton, one of the deer, and a tree.

“The deer is particularly illuminating on what it’s like to be a deer,” continued Mr James, “which isn’t something I don’t think I’ve ever seen before on a blu-ray interview.”

Documentaries include a standard making-of, a retrospective documentary examining its influence on films such as Parasite and Green Book, A day in the life of a deer, a day in the life of a dog, and a look at the now debunked theory that ‘Fenton! Jesus Christ, Fenton!’ Was actually a fake video created by the CIA to distract the public from the increasing problems in Libya.

The ‘Fenton! Jesus Christ, Fenton!’ Collector’s Edition will be released in Spring with a limited-edition version that comes packaged with a real-live deer.
