New film to bypass cinemas and debut on TVs in windows of Currys

In a further separation from the traditional film release model, it has been announced that Bashman III: The Bashening will bypass cinemas altogether and make its debut on TVs you can see in the windows of Currys.

“If we’ve learnt anything for the last 18 months, it’s that the old model of cinema-bittorrenting ropey copy-DVD-streaming just isn’t fit for purpose,” explained Stewart James, head of Fancy Pictures Ltd.

“For Bash 3, we wanted to explore a more imaginative, modern method of getting it out there.

“Initially we had a deal to go through Amazon Prime, but we released fairly quickly that its pretty much impossible to negotiate the Amazon Prime interface to find new films so we abandoned that idea.

“Then, one day I was waiting for a bus and noticed that a TV in the window of Currys was playing The Island and I was chuckling to myself at the bit where Ewen McGregor confronts Steve Buscemi in the toilet when I released that this is a way many people waiting for buses whose phone batteries are quite low watch films.

“In fact, it was even better because I couldn’t hear Ewen doing his weird American accent.”

Bashman 3 proved to be the perfect film with which to utilise this new form of distribution.

“With the best will in the world, the Bashman films aren’t really loved for their dialogue or plot. People want to see Bashman bashing people, and through a Currys window is the perfect way to do that.”

Bashman III: The Bashening will be available on TVs in Currys windows next month and, if it looks like rain, it will be possible to reserve a spot in a nearby bus-stop.
