New rom-com to feature couple who first appear ill-matched but ultimately fall in love

A new romantic comedy due later this year features the intriguing concept of a couple who are thrown together through circumstance and at first appear ill-matched, but ultimately discover that they love each other.

It will star a slightly past-their-prime actor and an actress who deserves better – Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway or similar.

“I’m psyched about the concept,” said studio executive Jeremy Wagner.

“I mean, what a pitch! A couple, and they don’t like each other, but then they fall in love! I mean, who’s going to expect that?

“No one, that’s who.”

Mr Wagner also revealed that there might be some comedy from an unexpected source.

“Yeah, I’m thinking that one of them has a best friend who’s a bit geeky or kooky or fat and they say these hilarious things and fall over.

“Which will be great.”

The soundtrack will be released in the weeks prior to the film and will feature a number of songs that your Mum likes and an Ed Sheeran cover of a different song that your Mum likes.

The film will be released in Autumn and the title will be an as-yet undecided Motown song – My Girl or Standing in the Shadows of Love – that sort of thing.
