Call of Duty is one of the most popular computer games of recent years. It is probably returning again this year, we’re not sure though. The WiFi’s playing up so we can’t check. Either way, here’s our guide to Call of Duty.
Plot
You play Deathbastard – a time-travelling super soldier with guns for arms. It’s your job to shoot all the other men in the game and rescue your son from a castle.
No one knows if your son has guns for arms as the game has never been completed.
Bonus points are scored for creative insults.
Setting
Each year, Deathbastard travels to a different historical battle such as Bannockburn, Helms Deep, or the 2010 Spain-Holland World Cup final.
Gameplay
Death by guns.
History
Call of Duty was initially a Victorian parlour game played with a ball and a metal cup.
It was first converted to a computer game in 1933. However, as computers hadn’t yet been invented, it flopped.
It again emerged in 2006 and went on to become so popular that it is estimated that on January 7th 2010 at 18.42pm precisely, every man, woman, and child on the planet was playing the game.
Trivia
In 2015 Barack Obama and Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones averted war by agreeing to settle a border despite with a game of Call of Duty.
If it hadn’t been for Jones’ formidable Call of Duty skills, the US would now own Powys.
Future
It’ll probably come out again next year. Usually does.
