A new version of Robin Hood is currently filming and, in what is thought to be the first time in film, will actually take the original American legend of Robin Hood, as opposed to the more popularised English version.
The film will use the original legend’s title – ‘Hot Dang! It’s Robin Hood’ – and will be set, accurately, in Wyoming Forest.
“What a lot of people don’t realise is that our popular idea of Robin Hood – that he lived in Nottingham Forest, that he was English, that he was enemies with King John – is almost entirely based on the 1938 Errol Flynn film,” said legitimate historian Mary Elizabeth Costner
“The original ‘Hot Dang! It’s Robin Hood,’ was a set in the early 1800s and Robin was a cowboy who shot the local poor people to stop them bothering wealthy ranchers.”
“The legend fell out of favour, and when a British writer was asked to write an exciting adventure film, he used the obscure Hot Dang! It’s Robin Hood, and turned it into The Adventures of Robin Hood because that’s Brits for you, always wanting to make themselves out as superior.”
Hot Dang! It’s Robin Hood will be released next year and, controversially, will star British actor Jeremy Rickman in the lead role.
“Typical. Goddamn Brits,” said Ms Costner.
