Terminator fans have been left thrilled and a little confused at the news that Linda Hamilton will make a return to the franchise as a version of Sarah Connor from the future who’s become trapped in an alternative timeline from the past.
The previous film saw the Terminator sent back into the past from the future of the present’s past’s 2nd timeline created in the future to protect Daenerys Targaryen, for some reason.
James Cameron made the Linda Hamilton revelation in a fractious news conference.
“F**k! It’s perfectly f**king simple, you stupid f**ks,” said that famously tetchy director
“This Sarah Connor is from the future, which has infinite timelines because it’s the future, right?
Everyone in the news conference looked nervously at one another
“One of those timelines in the future was created in the past, but not in our past, the past of a different timeline that was created in the past’s past when the past was still the future and had infinite timelines.
“Is that clear?”
Everyone in the news conference nodded politely.
Mr Cameron went on to explain the Terminator’s role in the film.
“Oh, he’s just going to come in and shoot the crap out of everything.”
“In 4D!”
