Data-miners have revealed that the upcoming season of Fortnite will contain a map update that introduces a full and complete recreation of the British town of Chelmsford.
The photorealistic recreation of the county-town of Essex will appear in the middle of the Moisty Mire and, as in real life, will be accessible from either the A12 from the London direction or the A414 from Harlow.
“We are super-excited to bring Chelmsford into Fortnite,” said Donald Mustard, Fortnite’s creative director.
“After the success we had with the Avengers crossover, we think the Chelmsford crossover will be an even bigger hit.”
It is understood that players will be able to do anything in the Fortnite recreation of Chelmsford that they could in the actual town, with complete access to both shopping precincts, a fully working ice-rink and even a Mr Ram’s kebab with continual fight going on outside.
“If it’s in Chelmsford, it’ll be in the game,” confirmed Mustard.
“But there’s some great secrets in there as well. If you want a great new skin, then why not check out the new John Lewis. Some cool new weapons? Check down the back of the sofas in Wetherspoons.”
With the addition of Chelmsford to the Fortnite map confirmed, there is now speculation that future seasons could see Basildon, Colchester and Southend added to the map.
Mustard laughs.
“Well, obviously, I can’t give away future plans. But a Fortnite battle playing out across the whole of Essex?
“You couldn’t get much better than that.”
