A new film without any kind of input from Phoebe Waller-Bridge seems likely to be a failure.
The new film has now been completed and at no point did Waller-Bridge assist with the script or star in a support role. She didn’t even provide a voiceover for a CGI robot.
“I’m not sure what they were thinking,” said an insider who’d worked on the film.
“How you can make a film without any input from Phoebe Waller-Bridge in this day and age? It’s unthinkable, frankly. Madness.”
The film is expected to be rather flat and boring, and have very little spikey frank discussion about relationships and sex.
“I’ve seen the final cut and it’s every bit as dull and drab as you’d expect from a film that doesn’t feature Phoebe.
“I can only assume that she didn’t have time to work on this project as she was too busy developing a female James Bond, repointing the Indiana Jones franchise, working on some top secret Star Wars film and revolutionising the sitcom format. Again.
“Surely, we could have waited a bit, though? Delaying for a few years has got to be better than just going ahead and making a film without Phoebe Waller-Bridge involved. Seems crazy to me.”
The film is expected to release to critical indifference and flop with the audiences.
“I can only hope other producers learn from this. Making a film without Phoebe involved in 2021 is as foolish and hubristic as it was trying to make a film in 2018 without input from Donald Glover.
