Netflix ‘Hill House’ sequel to remake Thriller video

Netflix has confirmed that the hugely popular The Haunting of Hill House will become an anthology series, with the next project from the team being a remake of Michael Jackson’s Thriller video.

Like The Haunting of Hill House, the new Thriller series will take the original story – a man dying, coming back to life, and then having a dance – and expanding it, twisting it and turning it into a gripping ten-part serial.

Thriller is a classic ghost story,” said showrunner Mike Flanagan.

“It plays on mankind’s primal fear that the dead will come back to life and moonwalk.”

However, Mr Flanagan is keen to make it clear that the new series won’t just be ten episodes of moonwalking zombies.

“No, no, that would be stretching everything a little thin.

“No, I can’t go into too many details, obviously, but I can promise it won’t just be moonwalking zombies – there’ll also be breakdancing zombies, body-popping zombies, and even some zombie boogaloo.”

Fans were excited about the news.

Thriller is a brilliant choice,” tweeted @scarypants.

“I’m looking forward to a double episode where they have loads of zombies dancing around a graveyard in weird eighties clothes.

“The original Hill House story really missed that, I thought.”

If successful, the team are expected to follow it up with a ten-part adaptation of Bobby Picket’s The Monster Mash or Lovebug Starski’s Amityville (The House on the Hill).
