One of 2019’s biggest films is set to be Captain Marvel, the adventures of a magical test pilot who lives on the moon.
However, with Captain Marvel being produced by Marvel Studios, there is a growing suspicion that there is nepotism at the heart of the new film.
“Look, I’ve got nothing against Captain Marvel, in fact, I’d say she does a bloody good job,” said Captain Brilliant, a superhero from Dorchester in Britain.
“But, I’m not sure what she’s got that I haven’t.”
Captain Brilliant goes on to explain that his powers are similar to Captain Marvel’s.
“They’re the same. Identical. There’s nothing she can do that I can’t. Yes, okay, she veers towards marvelous, whereas I’m more brilliant but, basically, we’re the same.”
Despite the similarities, to the best of his knowledge, Captain Brilliant has never even been considered for a Marvel film.
“Look, I didn’t become a superhero because I wanted to be a film star. I mean, maybe that sort of thing matters to people like Captain Marvel, but it’s not what I’m about.
“But I just think everyone deserves a fair shake, you know? I mean, if it were Brilliant Studios, not Marvel Studios, would I have my own film by now?
“Probably.”
Marvel have chosen not to comment on the nepotism controversy, but with rumours emerging that Captain Marvel’s parents, Barry and Mabel Marvel, have close ties to the Marvel company, there may soon be questions to answer.
