A man in the cinema’s claim that he really needs to take an incoming phone-call has proven to be, at best, spurious, and, at worse, an out-and-out lie.
This comes in the wake of a sustained bout of tutting and eye-rolling from surrounding patrons as the opening bars of the Star Wars theme began to loudly emanate from the man’s pocket.
“Sorry, I need to take this, won’t be a tic” explains that man as he answers his telephone with a cheery – ‘Alright mate, keep it quick, I’m in the cinema.’
However, the man’s claim that he ‘needs’ to take the call quickly loses credibility as it becomes clear that, in fact, the call is about a birthday party taking place in several weeks and therefore the entire conversation could have taken place after the film.
There has also been doubt cast on the man’s claims that he is in any way sorry for taking the call with his use of the phrase – ‘No, it’s rubbish, I can chat for a bit.’
It is hoped, but sadly not expected, that the man in question can stick his bloody phone up his arse for a start.
