New reports appear to confirm that the much anticipated Hobbs and Shaw is, in fact, a film and not, as was previously assumed, some biscuits.
Biscuit fans became aware of Hobbs and Shaw towards the end of last year and assumed that it would be a pack of high-end, possible organic, biscuits that would sell from National Trust shops and some branches of Waitrose.
“I think that we all thought that Hobbs and Shaw was a packet of biscuits,” Jason Johnson, moderator of the influential Digital Biscuit online biscuit forum.
“We were even speculated on the launch flavours – I personally thought we’d see a gingerbread, fennel and water flavour but the forum had settled on chocolate, cabbage and desperation as the one we’d see first.”
However, leaked photos and an announcement from Universal Pictures confirms that Hobbs and Shaw is a spin-off from the popular Fast and Furious series of films.
“Well, I can’t deny its a disappointment. I mean, I enjoyed the Fast and Furious movies, who didn’t? But I do enjoy high-end biscuits more. I mean, obviously, I run a biscuit forum.”
However, whilst the news that Hobbs and Shaw isn’t some new biscuits is disappointing, Mr Johnson does see reasons for optimism.
“It seems to me that most big films have promotional tie-in,” he said.
“So, perhaps Hobbs and Shaw could do a promotional tie-in with a high-end biscuit company, perhaps those Duchy Originals?
“Then you’d have both a Fast and Furious spin-off and some biscuits.
“Everyone wins.”
We can only pray good sense prevails and Mr Johnson’s suggestion is acted upon.
