Little Women II sees the sisters form wicked street dance troop

Following the success of the first film, Little Women II has been announced and will focus on the girls’ attempt to form a street dance troop and go all the way to the final of the 1872 state wide street dance championship.

The film is set two years after the first film, with the school now in dire financial straits and the sisters struggling to find a way to keep it going.

“The whole thing kicks off when Jo, in New York, sees the burgeoning hip hop and street dance scene,” explained director Greta Gerwig.

“Immediately, she realises that it’s a way her and her sisters can raise the money to save the school. So, she rushes back to Concord.

“She explains about the new street dance movement and that there is a Massachusetts state street dance competition with a prize of $10,000. The sisters form a street dance troop, Laurie agrees to choreograph a routine to a medley of Run DMC songs, and the whole thing is just a fabulous continuation of the story of these great characters.”

There has been some criticism of the fact that the story of Little Women II leans on a musical form that won’t be invented for another century.

“Yes, we’re playing a little fast and loose with the timelines. I admit that,” continued Gerwig.

“But, it’s worth it, I think, for the drama of seeing these fantastic characters work together to pull off some truly amazing street dance routines.”

Gerwig is also working on a script for Little Women III that would see the sisters develop superpowers in order to find off a threat from an intergalactic warlord intent on destroying half the population of the universe.
