The internet has reacted with fury to the release of a trailer for the new Ghostbusters film and the revelation that it appears to feature a girl.
Several years ago, a Ghostbusters reboot appeared featuring four women playing the Ghostbusters and nearly brought about the end of civilisation as we know it.
It had been hoped that producers had learnt their lesson this time.
“Frankly, this is the greatest insult of all,” tweeted 49-year-old Stewart James, who you’d have thought would have better things to do.
“It’s like, they broke my childhood into little pieces three years ago and now they’ve come back to destroy those little pieces.
“Ghostbusters are not girls! So, the girl who’s in it could be a girlfriend or someone the ghostbusters rescue or someone in a crowd cheering the ghostbusters on, but definitely not a ghostbuster.
“It’s almost like they don’t care about what pasty, overweight middle-aged men think.”
There are reports of men across the world locking themselves in their rooms and refusing to come down for tea and others throwing away their immaculately packaged vintage Ghostbuster action figures in protest.
Mr James offered a solution to the problem.
“I stand ready to play a Ghostbuster instead of the girl,” he offered.
“I’ve seen the original loads, so I’m perfect for it, even if I’m thirty-odd years older than the other ghostbusters in the film.
“It would be a bit weird, but not as weird as having a girl as a ghostbuster.”
Mr James is still waiting for producers to respond to his offer.
I saw the original when it come out and I liked the last one that was made, what gives with these fanatics?
Nothing “gives” and they aren’t fanatics. The director of the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot decided to make his marketing effort based on “if you don’t like my Ghostbusters you’re a dirty, dirty misogynist” and considered any and all criticism of his film, however minor, as “sexism”. This campaign of insults killed the film. You’ve been caught in leftist agitprop, my friend. Look and read the facts before you judge.
*Yawn* poor attempt at satire. The last Ghostbusters tanked because it sucked. It had nothing to do with creepy incels. Get over yourself.
