Further details of Fast and Furious spin-off Hobbs and Shaw have emerged, and it seems that the plot will centre around the titular characters opening a high-end stationers.

A gentle comedy about two men following their true passion, Hobbs and Shaw will be a change of pace for the franchise.

“I don’t think it will come as a surprise to anyone who has watched the last few movies that both Hobbs and Shaw’s real love is quality stationary,” explained director David Leitch.

“So, that’s what led up to the post-credits coda in the previous film that saw the pair of them looking at a Bond Street stationers that was having a closing down sale and smiling to each other.”

The film will focus on the pair’s attempts to find acceptance the stuffy world of British stationary.

“Yeah, there’s a lot of humour in that alone,” continued Leitch.

“Like, there’s a moment where The Rock is in this rival stationers and he’s a big guy, and he’s knocking expensive pens of the shelf and Jason is like ‘come on, man,’ and the other stationers are just laughing at them.

“But there’s a lot of heart there too, it’s essentially a story of two men, two large men, finding a friendship borne out of a shared love of stationary.”

It is expected that, if successful, a sequel Hobbs and Shaw: We’re Out Of Envelopes could follow in a few years.
