The latest instalment in the popular Halo series of video games will take a departure from the gun-play action of the previous games, with the game featuring all the protagonists getting coffee together and working things out.

Whilst previous games have seen the player battling both Covenant and The Flood on behalf of humanity, fans of the series have been vocal in wanting a change.

“Yeah, I’ve been surprised whenever I’ve met fans,” said game designer Buck Johnson.

“More than anything, they’re just tired of this damn war that’s raged for nearly twenty years and they just want to see a game where everyone just works everything out.”

Halo 6 will see the player able to play as any race and will begin with them joining a WhatsApp group, the group will the decide which coffee shop to meet in.

The player will then have to locate the coffee shop and make their way there, negotiating traffic and public transport controlled by a sophisticated and innovative AI.

Once in the shop, everyone has a big talk and sorts everything out.

“The final scene is pretty great,” confirmed Johnson.

“Just Master Chief, a covenant guy and one of The Flood holding hands and walking out of the coffee shop as the sun sets.”

Despite the ending of Halo 6 appearing to be quite final, Johnson insists this isn’t the last of the series.

“No,” he laughed.

“We’ve got plenty planned for a peaceful Halo universe.

“A game of Master Chief going fishing, a Flood dancing game, a Covenant train driving simulation.

“It’s going to be great.”
