A special Game of Thrones reunion show has been filmed featuring all the leading actors getting back together to discuss the show and its impact on their lives before culminating with the traditional killing of Sean Bean.

Lord of the Rings, Goldeneye, the Island, you can’t really have Sean Bean in your show and not have him killed, so we figured that slaughtering him would be a fun way to round off our reunion special,” said Game of Thrones showrunner D. B. Weiss.

It is understood that Sean Bean had no idea he was going to be killed.

“No, no, we wanted it to be a secret, so only a handful of us knew about his impending death.

“His face when he found out. Man, it was hilarious, let me tell you. He had no idea.

“I mean, you’ll see it yourself. Sean’s just standing there chatting with Lena, and Jack, you remember Jack Gleeson? Who played Joffery? So, yeah Jack creeps up behind Sean and he’s cracking up.

“He taps Sean on the shoulder. Sean turns round, sees Jack and sees this executioner with a massive axe and figures out what’s going on and he’s like – ‘you guys’ – and then we behead him.”

Weiss explains that the Sharpe actor saw the funny side.

“Totally. He thought it was hilarious. Well, we think so, I mean, his head was in a basket so it was pretty tricky to tell but, yeah, I’m sure he loved it.”

The reunion show will be available as an extra on a forthcoming boxset.

It is understood that Sean Bean will not be appearing in any films for the foreseeable future.

*Alright, perhaps ‘love’ is pushing it, maybe ‘be mildly diverted by’
