Funko Pop ‘unlikely’ to release Pather Panchali range

Funko Pop, the popular bobblehead figurine company, has stated that it’s ‘unlikely’ that they will be releasing a range of figurines based on Sanjit Ray’s classic 1955 tale of rural Indian life – Pather Panchali.

“Sometimes I don’t understand Funko Corporation,” said Bernard James, a 56 year-old barrister from Chipping Norton who has the country’s largest collection of Funko Pop figurines.

“I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love my Avengers Funko Pops and play with them all the time, but a range based on Pather Panchali would be well wicked.”

Fans had been hoping for a range that would have included a Funko Pop Apu, a Funko Pop Harihar, a Funko Pop Harihar’s crazy old cousin, and a Funko Pop Durga in both healthy and sick formats.

“The Funko Pop Harihar’s crazy old cousin would have been awesome, said Mr James, wistfully.

“You just know that would have been a massive collectable, everyone would have wanted that.”

The Funko Corporation also took time to confirm that there would be no Funko Pop figurines based on Murneau’s Sunrise – A Song Of Two Humans, Deep Throat, Requiem For A Dream, the 1980 Conservative Cabinet, or the old man in the High Street who shouts ‘I’m Crispy,’ at everyone.

They also reiterated that if we keep phoning them up with stupid requests, they’ll call the police.
