Superman is grumpy because this is all a terribly, terribly serious business. General Zod is grumpy because humans aren’t his slaves. Everyone else is grumpy because the two of them keep smashing everything up. There’s a big punch up and special effects happen then it stops.

Despite being called Man of Steel, Superman isn’t made of steel. Producers decided that would make it really hard for him to walk and he could rust if left out in the rain
