Young Ray Liotta does crimes. Likes it. Grows up to be an older Ray Liotta. Does more crimes. Likes it. Takes all the cocaine in the world and gets rubbish at doing crimes so tells the police about everyone’s crimes and goes to live in a boring house and listen to terrible Sex Pistols music. Joe Pesci menaces Ray with jokes, Robert DeNiro menaces Lorraine Bracco with dresses, Martin Scorsese menaces everyone with Eric Clapton music.

Originally set in medieval Yorkshire, Martin Scorsese’s friend Francis Ford Coppola persuaded him that 70s New York would be a better setting for his gritty mafia tale.
