Forrest Gump makes friends with a nice filthy commie spy. ‘Murca wants to kill the nice spy because he does spying for filthy commieland. Forrest says No! Then he goes to Germany to try and get ‘Murcan spy out of clutches of filthy commies. Everyone decides to go and meet on bridge for a chat.

Steven Spielberg was unable to obtain permission to film on Glienicke Bridge, so instead he used the flyover in Chelmsford, just by the Travelodge

The film was criticised on release for not having enough dinosaurs, so a director’s cut featured a scene in which Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance battle Velociraptors to reach the bridge

The titular bridge was played by chameleonic acting legend Meryl Streep

Ever the prankster, Mark Rylance would often beat up director Steven Spielberg and steal his dinner money
