There was excitement for football fans as it was announced that the next instalment of the popular Fifa franchise would include a Battle Royale mode.
Fifa 19 would, like every game currently in development, from Tournament Chess to Boeing Flight Simulator, would have the popular mode in place on release.
EA representative Jeremy Bastard denied that they where jumping on the PlayerUnknown: Battlegrounds bandwagon.
“No. We’ve definitely had an idea for a Battle Royale mode in Fifa for ages. Years. There’s literally nothing anyone can do, legally, to prove otherwise. We’ve checked.”
Mr Bastard gave some details of how the new mode would work.
“How does it work? Right. Okay. Well, I guess you have a hundred football players and they parachute out of a plane and land on the pitch and then have to score a goal or something.
“We’re still smoothing out the finer details, but the important thing is that all the promotional material and box art will have the words Battle Royale printed on it which I think everyone can be happy about.
“Might even call it Fifa: Battle Royale. That’d just be like printing money.”
If successful, it is expected that other popular EA franchises like Madden 19, Dragon Age and The Sims can all expect a Battle Royale mode.
