Following the final ever episode of Game of Thrones last night, fans have expressed anger at the number of spoilers it contained.
With no warning of the spoilers, the episode proceeded to give away the ending to numerous storylines and show the fate of a number of popular characters.
“I am bloody livid,” said Benedict XVI, the world’s second most popular living Pope.
“For eight seasons, I’ve managed to completely avoid all spoilers and enjoy all he twists and turns of that complex plot and then, without any warning, the actual show itself gives away the entire end of the story.
“I was like – ‘brilliant, so that’s ruined for me, may as well watch Lord of the Rings again’ – Gutted. Absolutely gutted.”
As yet, there as been no apology from producers for revealing the spoilers.
“It’s really disappointing,” said Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland’s First Minister.
“When I realised that there was going to be spoilers, I quickly switched off the TV, then unplugged it, then set fire to it, and then threw it in the sea, because you get tempted, don’t you?
“I just feel really let down, you don’t expect to get spoilers for the show you love in the show itself.
“Well, that’s it. I’ve put all my Game of Thrones action figures on Ebay and won’t be watching it again.”
The outcry follows a similar controversy a few weeks ago when Avengers: Endgame gave away the fate of a number of fan-favourite characters, and fans are already concerned that the upcoming Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker will contain huge spoilers for the end of the Skywalker saga.
