Exciting! Bethesda confirm Elder Scrolls 6 should be ready before the end of time

Avid gamers were left delighted by news from Bethesda that Elder Scrolls 6, the latest in their long-running series of epic fantasy games, will be ready before the end of time.

Already nine years since the previous game in the series and with little to show for the new game but a short video of some nice countryside, there had been fears that game might not be ready before the sun cools, the earth dies, and time, in any meaningful sense, ends.

“We know that fans are really excited for a new Elder Scrolls,” said Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines.

“So, it is with great pleasure that I can confirm it will be ready at some point before the end of time.

“It’s going to be a long job and we haven’t started yet, so it’s not coming soon, but I can confirm that if you personally don’t get to play it, one of your descendants definitely will.

“One tip though, make sure you have strong and resilient genes so that your line of descent can continue for many generations, because this game isn’t coming any time soon, so you may want to make sure that you have great or even great-great grandchildren who can enjoy it.”

Fans were excited at the news.

“Brilliant. I’m so pleased,” said @BigHardNord.

“To know that one day, many, many years into the future, possibly long after my lifetime, a human being will actually finally get to play a new Elder Scrolls games is a great relief.”

Pete Hines summarised the current state of play.

“To confirm then,” he said.

“Elder Scrolls 6. Definitely coming before the end of time.

“Unless, of course, something goes a bit wrong and we hit any development problems, in which case, just after the end of time.

“Some time around the end of time anyway.

“Definitely.”
