As the Emmys pass yet again without a win for Noel Edmunds, the star is convinced that there is a high-level conspiracy to prevent him from winning.
Staggeringly, despite such TV hits as Noel’s House Party and Multi-Coloured Swap Shop, Noel has never even been nominated for American TV’s highest accolade.
“I can only assume that there are forces, at the highest levels, who are working against me,” said the Deal or No Deal star.
“I mean, I don’t know if it’s the beard or not. I understand that people don’t like the beard, but surely that shouldn’t be enough to perpetrate such a high-level conspiracy to prevent me winning my richly deserved Emmy.”
“It certainly never stopped Peter Dinklage or Jessie from Breaking Bad.”
Noel went on to stress that he had definitely risen above the 40-year Emmy snub
“Oh gosh, no. I certainly don’t care about awards like this. It’s the work that matters. But, there’s been a lot of people who’ve worked on my shows. Who’ve had to go home, look their families in the eyes and say that ‘I work for Noel Edmunds.’”
“It’s those people who deserve an award, not me.”
However, Noel has a plan to expose the conspiracy once and for all.
“I’ll make up a game show format so perfect that if the next year’s Emmys ignore it, everyone will know there’s a conspiracy.”
We were given a tantalising insight into what that might be
“Probably something where people have to guess what’s in a hole, or identify a fish by licking it.”
“Whatever, it will be brilliant.”
