Dolittle possibly divine retribution for mankind’s folly

Theologians have put forward the theory that the recent Dolittle may actually be some form of divine punishment for the foolishness of mankind.

The film, which was only recently released and starred Robert Downey Jr in his first post-Marvel role, was absolutely bloody awful.

“To be honest, with the way mankind’s being going in the last couple of millennia, we’re certainly overdue some divine retribution,” said Rev. David Grant, theologian and winner of 2016’s Britain’s got Religion show.

“However, it is definitely surprising to find that retribution has come in the form of a movie about a animals farting.”

There is currently little in the way of hard evidence that Dolittle is divine intervention, but the theory continues to persist nonetheless.

“No, I think that’s fair,” concedes the Reverend.

“There possibly isn’t any crashing thunder, seas parting, or burning bushes that you would normally associate with divinity.

“But, it’s a succession of CGI animals blowing off in Iron Man’s face, I’m really not sure there is any other explanation for that besides divine retribution.”

If Rev. Grant, and his colleagues are correct in their assessment then it would seem that a much-mooted Dolittle sequel would suggest that mankind has yet to learn its lesson.
