Tom Hooper, director of the recent divisive film Cats, has received a call from his Mum saying that the important thing is that he did his best and she loves him regardless.

His mum also told him that she thought that it was very impressive that he even managed to make a film at all and that he should be very proud of that.

“I know that Tom-bobble has had a bit of a difficult time of it lately so I though he might need a little bit of a pick-me-up from his mum,” explained Tom Hooper’s mum.

“Some people have been mean about his Cats film and I wanted him to know that I thought it was a very good effort, you know, considering it was his first try at directing a film based on Cats.

“I mean, I don’t think I’d know where to begin making a film about singing cats like that, so I think it’s ever so clever of him just to have got it finished.”

Mrs Hooper that she hadn’t actually watched the whole film yet.

“No, I got twenty minutes in and Taylor Swift being a sexy cat was a bit too much for me, so I left and went home to watch a repeat of Midsomer Murders instead.

“But the important thing is Tom-bobble did his best.”
