Breath of the Wild sequel to be set largely in Brighton

Nintendo have let slip a few more details about the upcoming Breath of the Wild sequel, including the surprising news that instead of being set in the traditional land of Hyrule, it would be set in the English seaside town of Brighton.

A short clip of an early portion of the game has been leaked that shows Link emerging from a dungeon on to the Sussex Downs, just behind the pub at Devil’s Dyke. He then thunders down the hill on his trusty horse Epona, through the centre of Brighton to the pier where he rears up and lets loose triumphant cry before entering the Palace of Fun arcade, possibly to have a go on the 2p and 10p pushers, it’s unclear.

“I know that some fans will be disappointed not to see Hyrule as usual,” admitted Nintendo representative Stewart James.

“But the possibilities of sending Link to Brighton are incredible. He can eat some traditional Fish and Chips to heal himself. He can pop to Churchill Square Shopping Centre to pick up new costumes. He can even take advantage of the excellent pub and club scene to meet new friends who will help him on his quest.

“Brighton has so much more going on than Hyrule which basically just has a chicken farm and a village full of needy people who always want Link to do stuff for them. It doesn’t even have a single vape store whereas Brighton has several thousand.”

The news that the Breath of the Wild sequel is to be set in Brighton has led to speculation that the new Super Mario game will be set in Southend, and a new Pokemon will be set in Blackpool.
