Blu-ray Special Limited Collectors’ Edition has cardboard sleeve

It has been announced that a brand new Special Limited Collectors’ edition of a Blu-ray comes with a cardboard sleeve.

The cardboard sleeve slots over the Blu-ray, covering both the cover and the rear descriptive text. It can be removed at will.

“This beautiful new edition is a must for all collectors,” reads the press release accompanying the new release.

“The cardboard sleeve features the classic Blu-ray cover art, but rendered stunningly on cardboard. The descriptive text on the rear of the blur-ray features on the cardboard sleeve, allowing it to be read without removing the cardboard sleeve.

“The entire package with be encased in a protective plastic packet featuring a small white sticker that says ‘Special Limited Collectors’ Edition.’”

The company behind the release were bullish about its chances of success.

“This is a wonderful edition,” said a Stewart James, the designer of the new package.

“I can’t imagine many people will settle for having the old cardboard sleeve-less edition standard edition on their shelf when they can replace it with this beautiful new version with its premium cardboard sleeve.

“When I first saw the Special Limited Collectors’ Edition, I wept. I mean, I literally wept. The beauty of the cardboard sleeve it moved me. It moved me in a very profound way. I feel emotional now just thinking about it.

“Being able to share this new Special Limited Collectors’ Edition of the Blu-ray with its special exclusive cardboard sleeve is a privilege. A genuine privilege.

The new Special Limited Collectors’ Edition will retail for £25.99, £9 more than the standard edition and will be produced in a limited run of 700,000 units.
