Animated film to feature animals that actually talk

The film world was abuzz with the revelation that a new animated film will feature animals that can actually talk.

Herman the Happy Hermit Crab will feature a hermit crab whose best friend is a horse and will show the pair having conversations as they go on a quest to save an orphanage or something.

“I know, right? What the hell were we smoking? Animals that talk to each other? In an animated film? It’s going to be wild, man. Really wild,” explained director Stewart James.

“We wanted to put together this inspiring tale for kids about animals saving an orphanage or something, and we needed something that could really make it stand out from all the other kids’ films about animals saving an orphanage or something.

“So, one of the writers goes – why don’t we make the animals talk? – everyone was like – woah! – that’s crazy!

“But we took a step back and started kicking round some ideas, and you know what? I think we made it work. It seems nuts, but when you see it, you’ll completely buy into these animals being able to talk.

Animation enthusiasts were interested but cautious.

“A cartoon about animals that talk? I don’t know, it seems like a pretty ballsy move to me,” said Ann Pettifor, an expert in Keynesian economic theory and fan of cartoons and animation.

“But, you know what? I’m prepared give it a go. It’s a bold experiment, and if it works, it could really shake up the world of animation.”

It is thought that, at one point, the film was to feature a scene in which the animals actually sang a song together, but producers thought that would be going a little too far.
