All films will be superhero films by 2026

It is expected that by the year 2026 every single film released will be a superhero film of some kind.

The prediction is based on an algorithm developed by MIT to exclusively predict the number of superhero films released every year.

“It is a shocking result,” said a clearly shaken Professor Vanessa Keaton

“We thought that humankind would have forty or fifty years to prepare for the time when all movies are superhero films, but according to the algorithm, we have little less than ten years to ready ourselves.”

There was dismay but stoic acceptance from European filmmakers.

“Well, we knew it was coming,” said I, Daniel Blake director Ken Loach

“It shouldn’t impinge too much on the way I make films, I’d have thought. I’ll just have to make a few adjustments.”

Further studies of the results revealed that 40% of all the films in 2026 and beyond will be Spiderman reboots, and 60% will feature either Robert Downey Jnr or one of his many clones.
