Experts believe AI could soon be able to watch movies

As the potential of AI continues to increase apace, experts are now predicting that AI will be able to watch movies within a matter of years.

Last year saw the introduction of an AI that has the capacity to watch short cartoons and TikTok videos but it had been thought that an AI that can watch full movies was still many years away.

“I think that assumption is now wrong. The pace of change with AI is going much faster than we thought. I suspect that we could see an AI capable of watching a complete film as early as next year,” said Stewart James, a computing expert.

The news opens up profound implications for people who enjoy watching films.

“What’s going to happen to people like me? I like going to the cinema and watching films, even the last couple of Marvel ones,” said Kelly Grace, a film fan.

“Am I going to be replaced by AI? I mean, I’m sure that AI is going to be able to watch films more efficiently than me and get all the themes and subtexts and everything.”

Mr James said there was little to be worry about.

“I don’t think we’re near the point where AI is going to replace humans. Think about it, over a billion people went to see Inside Out 2 last year. There’s currently only four or five AIs – ChatGPT, CoPilot, that Chinese one. To replace humans, we’d have to make millions more.

“And besides, I don’t think we’ll ever get to the stage where an AI is prepared to pay £10 for popcorn and a coke, so we’re always going to need humans to do that.”
