A Quiet Place: Day One to reveal that aliens originally just asked humans to keep it down a bit

The Quiet Place films have presented a race of ferocious aliens that kill anyone who makes even the slightest noise, but the new prequel – A Quiet Place: Day One – will reveal that, originally, they were a bit more reasonable.

“What we’re doing here is giving the aliens some character, some personality. We’re showing that, actually, they’re not that unreasonable and just want a little bit of peace and quiet,” explained director Michael Sarnoski.

“You see, the aliens live on a planet not to far from Earth, in celestial terms, they’re pretty much next door. For the last 200 years, Earth has got a bit more noisy – The Industrial Revolution, World Wars, Nirvana’s second album, all that.

“One day, they just get a bit fed up with it and so they visit earth. Earth welcomes them and, originally, the aliens and humans get on fine. The aliens then ask humanity if they wouldn’t mind just keeping it down a bit as they’re trying to work.

“Humanity, naturally, is a bit mortified and say of course they will. But, you know how it is, right? You start off keeping the music down, but then a song comes on you like so you turn it up, and then forget to turn it down again, and so by the end of the film, Earth is as noisy as ever and the aliens are really quite cross.”

A Quiet Place: Day One will be followed by A Quiet Place: Day Two, which will see the aliens return to Earth and really insist that humans just keep the noise down, because it’s just not on. It’s really inconsiderate, and humans aren’t the only ones in the galaxy, you know.

That will then be followed by A Quiet Place: Day Three, which sees the aliens invade Earth and kill everyone.
