Zach Snyder demands to be allowed to recut video of family vacation to Niagara Falls

Zach Snyder has issued a demand to be allowed to recut the video of his family’s trip to Niagara Falls in 2016.

“It really didn’t capture the full vision I had for the picture,” explained Snyder.

“To start with, it’s only twenty minutes long. It needs to be longer. It needs to be much longer. Five, maybe six hours. Only that will really allow me to show the full scope of my vision for the video of our vacation to Niagara Falls.

“Should I have done that to begin with? Maybe, but you have to take into account the market forces around a picture. There are a lot of elderly relatives and also very young ones. They might not have the focus and concentration for a longer cut of the film. At least by releasing the original version of the vacation video, everyone in the family got to see it.

“I guess this new director’s cut is going to be more for the fans. My grown up kids, my brother.”

The new cut will also be more adult-focused.

“Look, I make no apology for this being a grown-up story for grown-ups. This is a vacation video to Niagara Falls, and nudity and violence is all part of that. I don’t want to give anything away, but there is a pretty spectacular scene I was forced to cut which has a widescreen pan across the falls, with the family in the foreground and then we cut to a fist-fight in a car lot late one night and then my wife in the shower.

“That’s coming back in. Along with so much more. That’s true to the real vision of the picture.”

Once Niagara: The Snyder Cut is complete, Snyder will be looking to recut another of his classic films.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole – but with much more nudity and violence,” he said.

“It’s an 18-rated picture. That was always my intended vision.”
