Your new obsession! New podcast rewatches all episodes of News at Ten

A new podcast has been launched that will watch and discuss every single episode of the BBC’s News at Ten.

Every week on All the News at Ten, the presenters will watch a single episode and then, with a ‘special guest’, discuss the themes and events that took place in the episode for the podcast.

The presenters will be a quite loud and excitable man who has an unspecified job in ‘media’ and a quieter man who thinks of himself as ‘dry’ and is working on a stand-up set that he’ll probably debut at a local open-mic.

The ‘special’ guests will be a variety of people that you haven’t heard of.

“This is going to mad,” said the loud, excitable one.

“I mean, News at Ten started in 2000, and there was an episode every day since then, so that’s got to be hundreds, hasn’t it? And we’re going to watch them all. What are we like?”

The quieter, ‘dry’ one agreed.

“It’s certainly Herculean, if Hercules had had a television and access to high-quality podcast recording equipment. Which he probably didn’t. Because he was fictional. And lived in ancient Greece. Although they probably didn’t call it ‘ancient’ back then.”

They revealed that they had already watched the first few episodes.

“There’s tonnes to talk about, man,” continued the excitable one.

“Sven-Goran Eriksson, the fuel protests, Michael Buerk’s ties. We’ll probably do a special bit each week actually about Michael Buerk’s ties, because that’s the sort of quirky thing that you do on a podcast that everyone always loves.”

All the News at Ten launches this week with an hour-long discussion about the 16^th October 2000 episode of News at Ten, it is expected to be listened to by both presenters’ mums.

Confident of success, the producers are already looking to launch a companion podcast that will watch and discuss every episode of the BBC weather programme.

New Walking Dead season to feature ‘significant’ amount of slapstick humour

For all the popularity of zombie apocalypse series the Walking Dead, the one thing that it has never offered its fans is wacky slapstick humour.

Series 8 is set to change all that.

“If there’s one thing that Walking Dead has really focused on, it’s a realistically brutal post-apocalyptic nightmare of survival amongst the undead,” said showrunner Scott Gimple.

“Which is great, but I do think that it means we’ve been forced to overlook the slapstick humour that the show’s been crying out for.”

“For example, when Rick has to run for his life to escape a hoard of undead, wouldn’t it be great if he turned the corner and the street was just covered in banana skins.”

Mr Gimple struggles to contain his laughter.

“He’d be slipping around, the zombies would be slipping around, it would be absolutely hilarious.”

He stops himself.

“Wow, I need to be careful, I’m giving away the cold open of the third episode.”

As well as the banana skin scene, he revealed that this latest series will feature ‘significantly’ more slapstick than previous series, with buckets of water falling from doors, a number of pies in the face, and a ‘crazy’ scene with a whoopee cushion.

It is understood that the planned season 9 will retain the slapstick, but will introduce a strong core of farce as well, with a planned scene of Rick’s trousers falling down as a zombie vicar starts chasing him.
