A new mini-sequel to Stephen Spielberg’s classic ET has revealed that the true meaning of the film is actually ‘buy broadband.’

Up until the release, many people had inferred that the film was actually a celebration of the power of love and friendship, but that appears to be a load sentimental nonsense and it’s just actually about selling the public a reliable, fast Internet connection.

“I was always frustrated as to how ET was misinterpreted,” explained sequel director Lance Acord.

“I mean, in my head, it was clearly a plea for all households to sign up to a really good phone company.

“Obviously, time as moved on, and nowadays, broadband companies have replaced phone companies at the heart of household communication.

“So, it seemed right to clarify that message in a sequel that really hammers home the importance of quality broadband from Comcast Xfinity.

Film fans welcomed to sequel and the clarification of the message.

“I think that it was ET that really showed me how powerful the magic of films could be,” explained lifelong movie fan Kelly Grace.

“But, I guess I was just too young to understand what the film’s true meaning was.

“I’ll certainly make up for that now and will be signing up to Comcast Xfinity forthwith.”

It is expected that following the success to the ET sequel further mini-sequels could soon follow, with Kelloggs’ Casablanca 2 revealing the original film was actually about what cereal to have as part of a healthy breakfast and Dolmio’s Godfather part IV shows how Godfather was mainly about good pasta recipes.
