Further details have been revealed about upcoming DC film The Flash. Not only will it feature the Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton incarnations of Batman, but it will also feature SuperTed, Condorman, and 70’s Hulk.
When Ezra Miller’s The Flash travels back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, he creates a multiverse that pulls together superheroes from all sorts of different timelines.
“Scientifically accurate that is. We’ve done our research,” explained director Andy Muschietti.
The sparks really fly when The Flash tries to get the team to work together.
“Oh yeah, that’s the thing. You’ve got Affleck’s superior Batman who can’t believe SuperTed can help because he’s a small toy bear. Condorman and Keaton’s Batman are just these two bickering old guys, and then you’ve got 70’s Hulk, who’s just a slightly stronger version of a normal man, and everyone thinks he’s a bit rubbish.”
Muschietti hinted that other great heroes of the past may appear as a cause of the multiverse.
“Metal Mickey, the A-Team, Colt Seavers, Dempsey and Makepeace, the Tomorrow People, Blake from Blake’s Seven. I mean, I can’t confirm anything, but a team that features all of those guys and SuperTed would be pretty great, wouldn’t it? Unstoppable. I don’t think you could repair a rip in the space/time continuum without them.”
It is thought that, should all these heroes come together, they could become part of the DC extended universe and lead the way to a brand new 19-hour cut of the Justice League film featuring all of them.
