“I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle,” said the Terminator, shortly before going on to save John Connor and the Resistance.
Of course, when faced with a giant naked robot from the future, the biker complied without a second thought and so, when the Terminator realised that the boots actually were pinching his feet really quite a lot, he was too polite to say anything.
“Well, look, he’d given me his clothes, boots and motorcycle, that was really ever so nice of the man, he didn’t have to do that,” said the Terminator.
“So, I couldn’t really go back and say – ‘look, these boots really pinch. Particularly around the little toes. Have you got anything a bit bigger?’ – I mean, with my model, the T-800, we’re known for having particularly wide feet. So, it’s unlikely that the man would have had any kind of footwear that fit properly anyway.”
The Terminator decided that the best course of action was to ignore the pain and press on with his mission to prevent the T-1000 from capturing and killing John Connor.
“I just tried to put it out of my mind but it was really quite painful. I mean, that’s why I tended to walk everywhere rather than run about. I was getting some nasty blisters.”
Happily, though, the Terminator is no longer in a position for the boots to pinch.
“No,” he chuckled, “one of the advantages of being melted in a giant vat of molten steel is you don’t really notice anymore that your boots don’t fit very well. There are some downsides though, but I try not to dwell on them. My feet are a lot more comfy, and that’s the main thing.”
