Following the huge success of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, a sequel has been announced and, interestingly, it appears to be a bit more than just a retread of the first film.
“We’re really happy with the first film, it was a great concert film. One of the best,” explained producer Stewart James.
“But if we were going to make a sequel then I think we all agreed that we needed to spend a bit more time on the plot. We all got together round a table and worked out a really dramatic plot which, get this, it begins with the revelation that Darth Vader is actually Taylor’s father.”
Opening on the last night of the Eras tour, the singer has just completed a blistering version of Shake it Off and walks off stage to be met with news that the Empire is closing in on her position. With the help of her dancers, crew, and audience, she manages to defend against the attack. She retreats to a remote planet to learn the ways of the Force, but the Empire lays a trap and threatens to rerelease the original versions of her albums. She infiltrates the Empire’s headquarters but Darth Vader is waiting for her. Thinking quickly, she performs a surprise acoustic set, but as she is finishing ‘Today Was a Fairytale’ the Sith Lord reveals that he is actually her father.
“That’s barely the first half an hour right there. We’re a lot more focused on plot this time,” continued Stewart.
“Yes, her fans love the songs and performances, but this film is going to have a hell of a story as well.”
Although nothing is announced yet, it is rumoured that there will also be a third film in the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour trilogy in which Taylor goes to live on a planet full of cute teddy bears and finds out that Princess Leia is her sister.
