Nintendo warns Switch 2 users not to remove protective cardboard packaging

Nintendo has been forced to issue a warning to new Switch 2 users not to remove the protective cardboard packaging that surrounds the console.

The company released a health and safety pdf which contains a ‘careful usage’ section. In that section, users are warned “not to remove the protective cardboard packaging that surrounds the Switch2 at purchase. This is in place to protect users from wasting all their time trying to drive a plumber in a car around endless race courses.”

Some users are astounded that Nintendo have had to release the warning.

“What kind of idiots are buying this thing,” said Stewart James, a lifelong Nintendo fan.

“I got mine and popped it up on the shelf where I can admire the brightly coloured and fun designs on the packaging. I wouldn’t dream of removing that, otherwise it would just be a weird lump of plastic and glass sat there. What would I do with that? Play games on it? What a weird thing to do.”

However, there were others who think the warning should have been more explicit.

“I didn’t know. The first thing I did was to remove the cardboard packaging and throw it away,” explained Kelly Grace.

“Now I’ve got no packaging to look at and it’s lost all its value. I’m so disappointed.”

Nintendo have also warned users not to remove the protective plastic packaging that surrounds the games, as there’s only a smaller bit of plastic inside.
