Star Wars series ‘The Mandalorian’ shows off new IT support character

Disney has revealed a brand new character for its upcoming TV show set in the Star Wars universe The Mandalorian.

Geoff Davenport is an IT support worker who will feature heavily when the lead character, a Mandalorian gunfighter, has problems with his WiFi or forgets his laptop password.

“So, we’re going for a much more relatable, realistic vision of the Star Wars universe,” said writer Jon Favreau.

“I mean, you don’t see Luke Skywalker having problems with his email, of course you don’t, I mean, he’s Luke Skywalker! He’s an all-powerful Jedi! If he has a problem with his email then he just uses the force and beams the mail straight into your mind.

“But, our Mandalorian, he’s just a normal guy. He’s like us, so he’s going to need a competent IT support guy, and that guy is Geoff.”

The Iron Man director confirmed that Geoff Davenport wouldn’t be a special two-headed alien IT support guy who worked out of the stomach of a giant space-whale.

“No, no, he’s just a normal IT guy who works in a big office. In Delaware or somewhere like that, but, you know, an outer space version of Delaware.”

There is no news yet as to who will play Geoff Davenport, but it is understood that Simon Pegg, Kumail Nanjiani, and the kid who played Data in The Goonies have all pre-refused the role.
