A shock new report has discovered that Deep Impact is actually better than Armageddon.
The two meteor-hits-earth films were released in 1998 and both considered to be fun, if lightweight, special-effects blockbusters of similar quality.
This new report is set to blow that assumption wide-open
“We ran a study over the course of a year,” said Stewart James, professor of Meteor-hits-earth films at Cambridge University.
“We used complicated science and hard sums to rigorously test each film and, as this new report has shown, we have conclusively proven that Deep Impact is the superior movie.”
The news has proven controversial amongst film fans.
“What a load of old nob,” said Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
“Armageddon is loads better than Deep Impact. It’s got that bit where Bruce Willis has to drill a big hole in the meteor, which is amazing.”
But Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason was quick to disagree.
“This study confirms what I believed all along – that Deep Impact is the superior film.
“And I should know, after all, I played on Comfortably Numb.”
Sadly, Professor James was unable to explain why Deep Impact is better.
“No, I’m afraid that to understand the science and maths behind the conclusion, you would need to be as clever as me and as I’m professor of Meteor-hits-earth films and you’re not, you just wouldn’t get it.”
Following on from these results, it is understood that the faculty of cartoon ants at Stanford University is about begin a year-long study into whether Antz or A Bug’s Life is better.
Even though it’s obviously Antz.
