Netflix have announced that they will be adding a new button that will allow the viewer to immediately skip to the end of whatever they are watching.
The move follows the controversial decision of the streaming giant to add a button that lets users change the playback speed of programmes.
“We recognise that many people lead busy lives,” explained CEO Reed Hastings.
“Which is why we introduced a button to let you speed up the playback.
“Also, top tip: Roma at double speed? Hilarious.”
He then introduced the new skip to the end button.
“However, we recognise that some people have even busier lives – Presidents, business leaders, and those people who spend all their time on their phones going ‘really, really busy actually, I don’t know how I get anything done.’
“So, for those people, we’ve introduced a button to allow you to skip straight to the end of whatever you’re watching.
“So, The Irishman is three and a half hours long, with this button you can skip right to the end and have it watched in a matter of minutes.
“By skipping to the end of each episode, you can watch an entire season of Stranger Things while sat on the toilet.
“If you tried that before, things got pretty uncomfortable. Believe me, I tried.”
The skip-to-the-end button is live now and should it prove successful Netflix are looking into the possibility of a switch-Netflix-off-and-go-and-do-something-useful-instead button.
Although, quite who would want that is a mystery.
