Sexy! Lego Basic Instinct playsets coming later this year

Lego have announced a new series of playsets based on Paul Verhoeven’s hit 1992 erotic thriller Basic Instinct.

The sets will feature a variety of scenes from the film and minifigure versions of Catherine Tramell with a removeable Lego dress and Detective Nick ‘Shooter’ Curran, which will be the first minifigure to be shown wearing a sweater with nothing underneath it.

“Kids are going to have a blast recreating scenes from the movie,” explained Stewart James, who designed the playsets.

“My personal favourite is the ‘Terrible 90s Club’ playset, which will allow you to act out the scene where Nick and Catherine dance with each other while Catherine’s lover Roxy does that weird angry punching dancing thing she does.

“Interestingly, despite being an inanimate little plastic minifigure, the Lego Nick Curran is actually a better and more enthusiastic dancer than Michael Douglas.”

There will also be a Lego cop station, although it won’t be possible to play out the notorious interview scene.

“No Lego cigarettes. Sorry. So, you won’t be able to do – ‘What are you going to do? Arrest me for smoking?’ – Everything else about the scene can be completely played out with the Lego, though.”

There will be a Lego ice-pick in several sets, allowing the Lego recreation of all the film’s grisly murders and the first ever Lego Car Crash playset which will allow children to play out the tragic death of Roxy.

The sets will range from 9.99 for the ‘Gus Line Dancing’ set, up to 79.99 for the ‘Catherine’s House’ set which will include a little Catherine Tramell minifigure that isn’t wearing underwear.

The playsets on from last year’s popular Natural Born Killers series, and the previous year’s Boxing Helena playsets.

Four Weddings and a funeral to be remade without ‘depressing’ funeral

Classic 1994 comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral is to be remade but will, controversially, be omitting the funeral as that has been considered too depressing.

The original was one of the biggest films of the 90s and featured Hugh Grant in the role of a very posh man who seemingly made a living by going to weddings.

“Hey, we love the whole Four Weddings thing,” said producer Jerry Marshall.

“Andie McDowell had a bunch of sex, the idiot British guy treads in excrement, Hugh Grant’s got great hair. Good times, right?”

“So why dump a funeral in the middle of all that, I mean talk about bringing everything down. Who needs that in 2017? No one, that’s who.”

Mr Marshall confirmed that, as yet, a firm replacement for the funeral has yet to be found.

“Yeah, so we got a bunch of ideas – Four Weddings and a trip to the funfair, Four Weddings and a Big Bang Theory TV binge, Four Weddings and the hot bikini pool party. Anything but a funeral. I don’t even know what those guys were thinking of.”

Mr Marshall also confirmed that Tom Hanks’ 1993 classic Philadelphia is set to be remade without the ‘depressing’ AIDs.

“Yeah, we’re going to make that about a guy with a bit of a cold, you got to keep things upbeat.”
