For several days now, the internet has been alive with rumours that Harry Styles murdered co-star Chris Pine with a big axe at the Don’t Worry Darling premiere, but what really happened?

The bizarre allegations centre around a video which shows Styles arriving at the premiere after Pine has already taken his seat. The Watermelon Juice star makes his way through the crowd to get to his seat next to Pine. He then nods at Pine, and turns away. As he does so, he appears to reach into his jacket and pulls out what looks like a really big axe, he then turns back, takes a big swing and buries the axe in Pine’s head, seemingly leaving him dead and the future of the Star Trek film franchise very much in doubt.

Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde has since denied the stories.

“It’s ridiculous to suggest Harry murdered Chris,” said Wilde, addressing the rumours.

“He’s a gentle soul, and a professional. It’s simply not in his nature to murder a co-star like this.”

She went on to suggest that the film didn’t actually show an axe-murder at all, but that Chris Pine simply had a heavy nosebleed, and Styles passed him one of his stylish yet practical handkerchiefs. The seeming appearance of an axe being just a strange quirk of the film.

So what really happened?

Chris Pine has been seen in public since the premiere, so he is definitely not dead. However, he was wearing a hat. So it seems the most likely explanation is that Harry Styles murdered Chirs Pine with a big axe but, happily, Pine has made a full recovery from the murder and simply wears a hat to cover the scars.
