Revolutionary new Black Mirror episode takes place entirely upside down

Charlie Brooker’s consistently impressive Black Mirror anthology show has followed up its choose-your-own-adventure The Bandersnatch with an equally revolutionary concept; the entire episode is upside down.

Expectant fans tuned in to see several actors and actresses they recognise from other things but can’t quite place walking on what appeared to be the ceiling without falling off.

“Blew my mind, to be honest,” said Black Mirror fan Craig Whitehead.

“I mean, they were all upside down. All the way through, I don’t know how they come up with this stuff. It’s genius.”

Director Alice Slade revealed the complexities involved in filming an hour-long TV show upside down.

“Gruelling, genuinely gruelling,” she laughed.

“First, you have to attach all the set and equipment to the ceiling, and this is some heavy kit, so we do that with harnesses, rivets and industrial glue.

“Then we cover the entire set with metal and give all the actors magnetic shoes so they can act upside down without being worried that they’ll fall down onto the ground.

There was also the human factor to consider.

“Well, yes. We’d have to have regular breaks. The problem is that humans aren’t meant to live upside down. Imagine the complexities of having a wee, for example.”

However, Alice remains proud of the episode and encourages people to approach it however they feel comfortable.

“Oh sure, turn your TV upside down, hang your head backwards off the sofa. Whatever you feel happy with.

“I’ve even heard of people holding upside down parties, where they attach all their stuff to the ceiling and invite friends round to watch it whilst hung upside down. That’s great.”

It is expected that Black Mirror will follow up the upside-down episode with an equally revolutionary episode where everyone is painted blue, or something.
